EDI communication with new partners is now a piece of cake, says Thomas Schott of RAPA

RAPA supplies components and system solutions for automotive, healthcare and industrial applications. The approx. 1000-employee firm was long plagued by slow debugging of EDI communication with new suppliers and slow adoption of new EDI message formats. "Thanks to the cooperation with Aimtec, these processes now take a fraction of the time they used to," says Thomas Schott, head of IT at RAPA.

Reliable and stable EDI communication is crucial for RAPA's business. In the past, it took months to connect new partners, either on the customer or supplier side, or to integrate new message types into EDI. "When problems arose, we didn't need hours to solve them, but days and sometimes weeks. The consequence was a tarnished reputation with the OEM and extreme frustration in the IT department," Schott says. This has all changed with the migration of customers and suppliers to a single EDI platform. In addition, the new message validation capability in RAPA has minimized the volume of OEM complaints.
