Case studies from two companies, DŘEVO TRUST and DENSO MANUFACTURING CZECH, were on the agenda as well. Participants also showed great interest in the morning workshops on current topics, such as logistics automation and the application of AI, comprehensively interconnected and managed manufacturing, and enterprise digitalisation. Rostislav Schwob, Karel Sladký: Enterprise vision and IT strategy
The vision for Aimtec DCIx is to enable customers to develop constantly, quickly, flexibly and effectively, responding to changes and adapting to future needs. That’s why configurability will always be a key feature for DCIx. This solution is offered as a cloud service, enabling customers to focus on their core business. Aimtec does not base its solutions on Aimtec DCIx alone; it offers a comprehensive framework of interconnected components and system applications. Simulations, predictions, data science and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) all round out its offerings. Thanks to all this, its users gain whole new dimensions of possibilities. These topics were the focus of the presentation by Aimtec Supply Chain Solutions Director Rostislav Schwob and Aimtec Integration Solutions Director Karel Sladký.
Jan Kocián, Václav Zajíček: What’s new in Aimtec DCIx 8
Aimtec is presenting the latest version of its Aimtec DCIx solution. Version 8 boasts a modern UX/UI design and a comprehensive API interface that enables customers to connect to any desired part of the system. It also brings innovative possibilities for reporting and utilising data for analyses, monitoring and motivating customers. This system is able to interconnect and control various technologies in demanding automation projects. It utilises AI, for example in the form of a chatbot, for automation, prediction and simulation and more. Aimtec Software Development Director Jan Kocián and Aimtec DCIx Consultant Václav Zajíček spoke on the fundamental changes to the system that are planned or underway.
Petr Stejskal: Aimtec & Zebra Technologies
The digital solutions from Zebra Technologies offer effective tools for everyone. That’s why Aimtec Chief Technology Officer Petr Stejskal presented Aimtec’s latest innovations, e.g. the very first 5G for warehouses and production halls, unbeaten scanning range and the smallest and the lightest wearable scanner in the market. The Zebra MC94X0 is the best-selling rugged scanner compatible with the Aimtec DCIx solution. The Zebra WT54 & WT64 can serve for quick and error-free picking. The world’s smallest scanner, the Zebra RS2100, was presented as well.
Libor Toman: DŘEVO TRUST (case study)
Libor Toman, a member of the board of directors at the DŘEVO TRUST wood retailing chain, shared his experiences with warehouse automation at two distribution centres. This company has been in business for over twenty years and has over 20,000 products available for joiners and furniture manufacturers. What did this company decide to automate, what were their initial expectations, how did they choose individual technologies and what obstacles did they face? And would they do anything differently if they had to implement a similar project again? The presentation also showed the simulation of processes in the FlexSim tool and presented a video of real-world warehouse processes.
David Svoboda, Jiří Šimera: DENSO MANUFACTURING CZECH (case study)
Data is a true gold mine today. How should you work with data in manufacturing (and everywhere)? How can you present it to different user groups, and how can you deal with requirements for swift responses without overloading your information system? Where can reporting help you? David Svoboda and Jiří Šimera from the Japanese-owned company DENSO MANUFACTURING CZECH in Liberec, Czech Republic, answered these questions and more in their presentation about online and analytical reporting.
